Workplace Description The postdoctoral fellow will be employed at the Division of Engineering Logistics, Department of Industrial and Mechanical Sciences. We are approximately 15 employees. Here we teach and conduct research in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Our research addresses various aspects of strategy, design, planning and control, measurement and development of supply chains. Current research areas include supply chain resilience and risk management, global and sustainable supply chains, trade logistics, automation technology for material handling, and procurement and supplier development. This position is part of the newly established interdisciplinary center CenSSUR (Center for Security of Supply Research). Other centers relevant for collaboration include FORCE (Center for Food Resilience and Competitiveness), Campus Total Defense, and REAL (Centre for Retail and Logistics). Specific Subject Description Logistics and supply chain management with a focus on public-private collaboration for supply chain resilience. Duties The postdoctoral fellow's responsibilities primarily involve conducting research within the subject area. Teaching is included in the duties, corresponding to one-fifth of the working time. Within the scope of the employment, there is an opportunity for three weeks of higher education pedagogical training. The purpose of the employment is to develop independence as a researcher and create conditions for further advancement. You will be responsible for studying and comparing how different collaboration mechanisms for supply chain resilience have developed within and between different sectors' supply chains, particularly how various actors are involved and how focus areas have changed. You will develop theoretical frameworks, be responsible for data collection and analysis, and in collaboration with other researchers, author scientific articles. You will likely collect data through interviews in the Swedish resilience system as well as through surveys. Data collection and project meetings may involve travel within Sweden. You will collaborate with both Swedish public authorities and companies. The research will be presented at international conferences (1-2 per year). The position also involves teaching in our international MSc program in Logistics and SCM, supervision of thesis projects, and participation in supervision of doctoral candidates. Qualifications Eligible for employment as a postdoctoral fellow is a person who holds a doctoral degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree within the subject area of the employment. Evidence that the eligibility requirement is met must be submitted by the time the employment decision is made. Primarily, the applicant must have completed their degree no more than three years before the application deadline. If there are special circumstances, the doctoral degree may have been completed earlier. Other Requirements: doctoral degree in logistics, supply chain management, or equivalent very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written knowledge and experience from the research field of supply chain management documented ability to conduct qualitative studies (e.g., case study analyses) and/or social network analyses ability to conduct research independently and systematically in a collaborative environment collaboration skills and initiative Evaluation Criteria This is a merit-based position primarily focused on research. The employment is intended as an initial step in the career, and the evaluation of applicants will primarily be based on their scientific merits and potential as a researcher. Particular weight will be placed on scientific competence within the subject area.
