Work tasks and areas of responsibility At Lund University, a postdoctoral position should provide an opportunity for scientific and pedagogical qualification. Primarily, space is given for research qualifications, but also to some extent for higher education pedagogy training. Teaching may also be included in the work tasks (maximum 20%). The research will be within algebraic topology, as part of the project "Local to global principles for topological quantum field theory" financed by the Swedish Research Council. The position shall include an opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education pedagogy. Detailed description of work tasks: research within the subject area; teaching (maximum 20%); supervision of degree projects and doctoral students. Qualifications Requirements for employment are: a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree in algebraic topology; the doctoral degree must be completed no later than when the employment decision is made; good ability to develop and conduct research of high quality; good pedagogical ability; you should also be motivated, have initiative, be able to work independently and in groups, and be persistent; very good oral and written skills in English. Merits for employment are: the applicant in question preferably completed their degree no more than three years before the final application deadline; a strong background in higher algebra and higher category theory; previous work experience with moduli spaces. The evaluation of applicants will primarily be based on their scientific merits and potential as a researcher. Particular weight will be placed on scientific ability within the subject area. Consideration will also be given to good cooperation skills, drive and independence, as well as how the applicant's experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department, and how they can contribute to its future development. About the employment This is a full-time position with limited duration of 3 years. The employment period is determined in accordance with the collective agreement on limited employment as a postdoctoral researcher (Swedish Agency for Government Employers). A postdoctoral position is intended as an introductory step in a career and as an opportunity to further deepen and broaden research competence. Desired start date for the position is 1 October 2026.
