The Support Assistant Pool Unit for Children, Youth, and Short-term LSS is a shared resource within the Support Services Division for Children, Youth, and Short-term LSS. LSS stands for the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities. The pool unit's mission is to provide coverage during short-term absences or for special needs at our facilities. As a support assistant in the pool unit, you will work at our various facilities—we have a total of six units distributed across two residences with special services for children or young people (children's homes) and four short-term residences for children or adults. Every person we meet should be given the opportunity to live their life to the fullest—with self-determination, security, and participation. Through our pool unit, we contribute with expertise, commitment, and flexibility wherever there is a need. Together we create quality in everyday life for those we serve! Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, nights, and weekends (every other weekend). 2 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Are you looking for varied and development-oriented work where you can contribute to high quality across several of our operations? We are now hiring two support assistants for the Pool Unit for Children, Youth, and Short-term LSS. In your role as a support assistant, you will provide support, service, and care according to LSS and in accordance with the individual's implementation plan. The work is varied and requires flexibility, collaboration skills, and a professional approach. Pool unit staff always lead by example in all situations and serve as role models regarding compliance with Gävle Municipality's core values, routines, guidelines, and policies. Your work duties include: • Provide support and care according to LSS, based on the individual's needs and what is described in the implementation plan. • Contribute to participation, independence, and good quality of life for service users. • Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and unit managers at the facilities. • Document according to applicable laws, routines, and guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS Formal qualifications: • Completed education in the care and health program, children's and leisure program (pedagogy specialization), support assistant training, or other education that the employer considers relevant for the position. • Class B driver's license. • At least 1 year of work experience within LSS. • To handle documentation and communication in the position, you need good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. • Knowledge or experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), visual teaching methods, low-arousal approaches, medication management/delegation, and social documentation. Merits for the position include TAKK training or knowledge, as well as a Class B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles, and experience from one of our facilities: children's homes or short-term LSS residences. As a person, you have a strong ability to quickly adapt to new environments, are responsible, and demonstrate respectful interaction with both service users and colleagues. You are flexible, take initiative, and feel confident in your professional role. To succeed in this role, it is important that you build trust and inspire confidence in those you encounter in your daily work, both service users and partners. You are solution-focused and able to bring calmness and stability to the workplace, especially during stressful situations. You can work independently, take your own initiatives, are courageous, and have the ability to separate facts from personalities. Furthermore, you have an unpretentious approach, see situations from different perspectives, and can adapt to various circumstances. You see opportunities in change. For this position, a certificate from the police criminal records register is required. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last stage of the recruitment process.
