The Left Party Gävleborg is seeking a full-time Political Secretary. We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the Left Party's policies and contribute to our political work in Region Gävleborg. As a Political Secretary, you will work closely with our regional council and the Left Party's regional group. You will become an important part of our team and have the opportunity to contribute to well-founded political decisions and the development of the Left Party's policies in Region Gävleborg.
About the Assignment:
As a Political Secretary, you support the Left Party's elected officials in their political work. You prepare decision materials, analyses, and proposals ahead of political decisions and contribute to work on, among other things, the regional budget, regional plan, and other strategic matters.
You are also responsible for environmental monitoring and communication, and contribute to developing and anchoring the Left Party's policies. The work is varied and involves alternating between long-term development work and current political issues.
In this role, you have many contacts with civil servants and political representatives from various parties. You contribute to professional collaboration and favorable conditions for dialogue, negotiations, and joint solutions.

Has a strong commitment to society and an interest in regional politics.
Has good analytical skills and enjoys diving into complex issues.
Is a skilled writer and expresses yourself well in speech and writing.
Works in a structured manner, takes own initiative, and has a good ability to plan and prioritize.
Enjoys collaboration, builds good relationships, and works equally well independently and with others.
Likes varied work where the pace is sometimes high.
It Is Advantageous If You Have:
Experience working within the Left Party or another political organization.
Experience from a politically governed organization or public administration.
Relevant education in, for example, political science, journalism, communication, or economics.
Experience with budget work, economic analysis, or operations management.
Experience in communication work, opinion formation, or press work.
Knowledge of public finances and municipal or regional governance.
Experience with negotiations.
Experience working professionally with social media.
About the Position:
The position is an appointment as Political Secretary according to the Municipal Act and entitles you to unpaid leave. Region Gävleborg is the formal employer while management is conducted through the Left Party.
Scope: Full-time (100%)
Start Date: January 1, 2027, or by agreement.
Employment: Limited-term through December 31, 2030, with the possibility of extension.
Objective-based working hours apply. Evening and weekend work as well as travel within the region may occur.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
