The Ground Warfare School's (MSS) role is to work together with other parts of the armed forces to create conditions for the Swedish Armed Forces to accomplish its assigned tasks in the best way possible, both nationally and internationally. MSS also performs tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces such as development and procurement of soldier-worn equipment, firearms, and support weapons. About the Position At STA MOUT (combat training facility for military operations in urban terrain), you will have the opportunity to work with exciting tasks. You will have your own responsibility and good opportunities for professional development. You will be part of an experienced and close-knit work group consisting of 3 operators, 1 simulator technician, 1 systems technician, and 6 professional officers (Chief, Deputy Chief/KÖL, 4 platoon instructors). As a MOUT platoon instructor, you will face multiple varying work tasks. Before an exercise, your task is to analyze and create an exercise that meets the stated objectives from the training unit or our own company exercise leader (KÖL). In your role as platoon exercise leader, you physically follow the trained unit throughout the facility as they complete their task, like a unit instructor (Blå-Gul), in order to provide real-time direct evaluation during execution. At the end of each phase, evaluation takes place based on your own observations and compiled material from an "Operator." This could include radio traffic, positions/movements, neutralized targets, film/photos, and situation maps. Presentations are often made in PowerPoint at the facility. The main task during an exercise is often to support commanding officers; in some cases, you may enter and command the trained unit yourself. Outside of training operations, you will maintain equipment such as vehicles, weapons, etc. You will also participate in facility maintenance, including the buildings (over 40 buildings) and to some extent the technical systems. Qualifications Several years of background in a unit with combat as the primary mission. Combat at the platoon and company level. Good understanding of combat tactics at the platoon and company level. Experience in planning, execution, and evaluation of exercises at the platoon level. Experienced educator with competence to train individuals/platoons across the entire spectrum from low to very high training standards. Specialist competence as a Combat Leader, Fire Control Officer, Mechanic Vehicle Commander, or Motorized. Fluent Swedish in speech and writing. Good knowledge of English. Good physical fitness. Meritorious Weapon schools (AK4, AK5, AK24, AKM4, KSP58/90, P88) Competence in indirect fire, maintenance, technical service, UAV. Competence in night vision equipment such as sights and portable sensors. Competence in simulators equivalent to a rifle platoon's needs. Multiple driving licenses (Wheel loader, off-road vehicle, terrain vehicle) Personal Qualities A good colleague who is loyal, attentive, and shows good judgment; easy to interact with different types of people. A desire and commitment to enhance the unit's competence in training situations so that set objectives are achieved. Learning and not testing/judging. High integrity toward the work group as well as toward the trained units and other stakeholders. Thorough and structured, as well as persistent, driven, and solution-oriented.
