About the Surgical Platoon
The surgical platoon is a central part of the Hospital Battalion's healthcare capability and is tasked with establishing, operating, and supporting surgical activities in field environments. The platoon contributes to ensuring that qualified surgical care can be performed close to the area of operation, which increases the opportunity to save lives and reduce the consequences of injuries and illness.
The operation includes planning, establishment, and operation of surgical treatment facilities as well as support to military operations with qualified healthcare. The unit is continuously trained and exercised to be able to operate nationally and internationally and under conditions where ordinary healthcare resources are limited or heavily stressed.
Main Responsibilities
As a platoon commander, you are responsible for the platoon's operations, personnel, and development. You lead the platoon's daily work and ensure that training, exercises, and readiness are carried out according to set objectives.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
Plan, lead, and follow up on the platoon's operations.
Develop the platoon's operational capability and readiness.
Take responsibility for training and exercise activities.
Exercise personnel responsibility for subordinate personnel.
Coordinate operations with other parts of the company.
Participate in planning and execution of exercises, operations, and readiness activities.
Ensure that the platoon can establish and operate surgical activities under field conditions.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Accredited officer degree or specialist officer degree.
Swedish citizen.
Driver's license class B.
Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish.
Good physical fitness according to Swedish Armed Forces requirements.

MERITORIOUS
Experience in the position of platoon commander or deputy platoon commander.
Experience from healthcare units or healthcare management.
Experience in training and exercise activities.
Experience from national or international operations.
Good ability to plan, lead, and follow up on operations.
Knowledge of military medical services and healthcare in field environments.
Instructor or leadership training within the Swedish Armed Forces.
