Description:

Do you want to lead an operation with high ambitions in safety, sustainability, and operational excellence? As Site Manager for BASF Metals Sweden AB, you will have overall responsibility for the Hofors facility. You will lead the plant with a focus on safety, employees, profitability, and long-term development. The position involves both strategic and operational responsibility, and you will also serve as Managing Director of the Swedish company. You will become a key person in BASF's global network and be responsible for developing the operation in line with the company's business objectives and sustainability ambitions. Your main areas of responsibility You will, among other things: Lead and develop the operation with the highest focus on occupational environment, health, safety, and environment (EHS). Be responsible for the facility's strategy, business plan, budget, investment plans, and results. Ensure efficient, safe, and competitive production with focus on quality, delivery precision, and cost-effectiveness. Drive a culture characterized by safety, accountability, participation, and continuous improvement. Lead and develop the organization and create conditions for engaged and high-performing employees. Build long-term relationships with employees, union representatives, customers, authorities, suppliers, and the local community. Ensure good risk management, regulatory compliance, and sustainable practices. Drive improvement initiatives and implement best practices in close collaboration with BASF's international organization. Represent BASF Metals Sweden AB externally and be the company's face in the region. Who are you? We are looking for a person with academic education in engineering, metallurgy, chemistry, or another relevant technical field, and at least ten years of experience in leading positions within manufacturing industry, process industry, metal industry, recycling, or similar operations. You have documented experience in creating good results in safety, operational development, and business performance, and are experienced in leading through other managers and developing high-performing organizations. The position requires experience working in a unionized operation and a strong ability to build trustful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You have experience in change management and continuous improvement work, as well as good financial understanding with experience in budget, investment, and results responsibility. Furthermore, you are comfortable working in an international organization where cross-border collaboration is a natural part of daily work. Experience from metallurgy, metal recycling, thermal processes, or furnace operations is meritorious. You are a confident and engaging leader who builds trust and helps people grow. You combine a strategic perspective with a strong execution focus and have the ability to make well-founded decisions even in complex situations. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and are motivated by developing both people and operations. With high integrity, business acumen, and inclusive leadership, you create engagement and drive change in a sustainable way.
