Do you want to be part of one of Generic's most important technical initiatives? Generic is now looking for a Platform Engineer who wants to combine operational platform work with technical depth and play a key role in the continued development of Generic's platform. You will help strengthen and further develop a Kubernetes environment with a focus on automation, scalability, and high availability to meet both current and future needs. You will enter a situation where the platform is already in operation and functioning, but where demands for scalability, automation, and stability are increasing rapidly as services grow. This is a role for someone who wants to be close to production and influence how a critical platform actually behaves in reality. You can base yourself at our office in Örebro or Luleå. The platform team is currently mainly located in Luleå, which means regular travel there for good collaboration and joint activities. About the role As a Platform Engineer, you will become a central part of how the platform is operated and further developed in production. You work closely with development teams and are often involved when something doesn't behave as expected – or when new services need to go live quickly and safely. The role combines hands-on work in the platform with long-term improvements in how we build and deliver software. You will, among other things: Further develop and operate our Kubernetes platform in production. Improve CI/CD flows and make deployments more robust and predictable. Develop and refine our GitOps processes. Ensure observability (metrics, logs, and tracing) in production environment. Work with incidents, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Improve networking, traffic flows, and performance in distributed systems. Reduce manual work through automation where it actually makes a difference. Collaborate closely with development teams on production deployment. About you We are looking for someone who has built and operated platforms in production environments and is experienced in working close to systems where operations and development meet. You are comfortable with troubleshooting, structured in your approach, and accustomed to taking responsibility when systems don't behave as expected. You have: Several years of experience with Kubernetes in production. Strong Linux competency and good troubleshooting skills. Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar). Good understanding of container technology (Docker/containerd). Experience with distributed systems and incident management. Good understanding of networking and traffic flows. Ability to work steadily and methodically even under pressure. Merits: GitOps (e.g., Argo CD). Cloud (especially Azure). Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/Loki). Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Bash, or Python). Messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar). Advanced Kubernetes networking (e.g., Cilium/eBPF). Experience from CPaaS or telecommunications.
