F 16 is responsible for Uppsala Garrison and the operation of Uppsala Airport. The squadron is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace 24/7, 365 days a year, and leads the Swedish Air Force's fighter aircraft operations. About the Unit The Squadron Staff is the unit that prepares and issues the unit commander's orders to directly subordinate units. The Exercise and Cooperation Division (A79) main tasks are to coordinate, plan, and manage exercises, training, readiness checks, and unit development in order to achieve tactically desired effects according to C F16's unit development plan. A79 also coordinates and implements much of C F 16's local and regional cooperation with civilian actors within the total defense framework and is responsible for communication and quality work at the squadron. As a Planning Officer, you are part of a team working with both exercise planning and civil-military cooperation, and together with other parts of the squadron staff you support C F 16. The Planning Officer position gives you the opportunity to contribute to F 16's unit development by applying your current competencies from operations, operational readiness, defense planning, and exercises. The position provides you with experience in staff work and planning methods at the unit level as well as the opportunity to develop your competencies in tactical and operational requirements and objectives for units. Main Responsibilities Within exercise planning, the position includes planning, coordination, implementation, and follow-up of exercise activities. The position involves following up, analyzing, and documenting lessons learned and proposing improvement measures. In your position you will cooperate with national and international military and civilian actors. You will contribute to the development of methods, processes, and concepts for exercise planning and evaluation, and participate in staff work and support activity planning related to training, exercises, and readiness. The position includes developing and maintaining civil-military cooperation within the total defense framework. You will be a key link between the Armed Forces and civilian actors at local and regional levels to strengthen society's overall defense capability. The role includes planning, coordinating, and developing civil-military cooperation within the Squadron's area of operations and supporting unit leadership and commanders with advice on these matters. You will work to maintain and develop networks with authorities, regions, municipalities, businesses, and other actors within the total defense framework and represent the Squadron in cooperation forums, working groups, and networks. Beyond this, you are expected to contribute to the development of plans, procedures, and processes related to total defense, readiness, and host nation support, as well as conduct analyses and provide decision-making materials. You will participate in crisis management, heightened readiness, and other situations where coordination between civilian and military actors is required, and follow developments within the total defense area and implement national directives and regulations in practical operations.
