Your Workplace The Community Development Sector in Härryda Municipality is responsible for the entire chain in the community development process—from housing planning and detailed plans to building permits, infrastructure, environment and public health, and nature conservation. Here we drive projects that shape the living environments of the future and make a difference for the municipality's residents every day. As Chief Planner in the Planning and Development Operations, you will have a central role in the municipality's community development. The municipality is facing an exciting time with major development projects such as Landvetter South and a new railway between Gothenburg-Borås with a branch to Mölnlycke. The workplace is located in Mölnlycke, with good commuting options from Gothenburg. Your Assignment The Planning Unit is responsible for developing detailed plans as well as analyzing and reviewing planning decisions, preliminary sketches, and more. As Chief Planner, you will have overall responsibility for planning operations and the unit's work environment and budget. The planning unit currently has 8 planning architects, and in addition to leading and supporting your employees, you are expected to be able to work operatively with projects and development matters to some extent. The Community Development Sector is undergoing a reorganization aimed at improving and clarifying the sector's mission and deliverables. An important part of our change work is to continuously improve our operations and working methods, which means you are actively expected to drive and lead your own development and that of your colleagues. Requirements for the Position We are looking for someone with a degree in architecture, physical planning, community development, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position. You have in-depth experience working with physical planning and urban development and understand the architectural principles and aesthetic qualities that influence the design of cities and communities. You have experience and understanding of political processes and ideally have worked within a politically governed organization. Furthermore, we see that you are a strategic leader with a genuine interest in community planning and a goal-oriented approach. You have the ability to inspire and guide employees toward common goals and to create a positive work environment where employees thrive and develop. To be successful in the role, you should be a good relationship builder who contributes to a positive spirit within the unit and sector. You communicate clearly and are skilled at creating engagement. You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act, the Environmental Code, and other legislation governing municipal planning. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities, and to succeed as chief planner with us, collaboration and progress are important.
