At Fjätervålen, we are known for our well-groomed slopes. Quality of both slopes and cross-country trails is of utmost importance. On some slopes we produce snow, but on most slopes we use our snow nets that capture natural snow.
We have 18 runs of all difficulty levels as well as a fun park and a cross-country technique park. We also groom 5 miles of cross-country trails in the cabin area and up on the mountain. As a snowcat operator, you work in close collaboration with the responsible foreman and day staff in operations to create the best possible experience for our guests.
We are looking for you with several years of experience, who is used to working independently and in all weather conditions up on the mountain. A snowcat operator license is a requirement.
At our facility, hospitality, solution-oriented thinking, and flexibility are central. We are passionate about skiing and creating the best possible experience for both guests and staff. We are a small team of about 30 employees during winter who work closely together, across departmental lines, and with short decision-making processes.
Fjätervålen sits at 1,002 meters above sea level and is a ski resort in northern Dalarna approximately 20 km northeast of Idre. The ski resort is privately owned. The slopes are FIS classified in both GS and SL for international competitions. There are four lifts, eighteen runs, and a cabin village with approximately 280 cabins. The longest run is 3 km long with a vertical drop of 317 meters. There are also 5 miles of beautiful cross-country trails, ski shop/ski rental, an inn, convenience store, cabin booking service, and ski school.
We hope you want to be part of our exciting development journey in the coming years. The ambition is to become a climate-smart mountain destination offering genuine mountain experiences with sustainability in focus. Future plans include a chairlift, hotel operations, cabins, apartments, summit lodge, mountain bike trails, and more. The target is to begin construction in summer 2027.
We offer the opportunity to rent staff accommodation within walking distance to the workplace as well as access to employee benefits for both you and your family.
Recruitment is ongoing throughout the summer.
Welcome with your application!
