One (1) RESEARCHER position (1 FTE) – Natural Sciences. Subspecialty in Mathematical Physics
Requirements for candidates:
Required education: Doctoral degree in Natural Sciences with specialization in Physics and Mathematics.
Experience requirements for candidates over the last 6 years:
• At least 5 publications on radon concentration research;
• Conducted research on radon risk assessment in indoor environments and building materials;
• Master's degree or additional education in a field related to Construction;
• Participation in international scientific projects, as well as preparation of scientific project applications.
English language proficiency is required for participation in international scientific projects and preparation of scientific project applications.
The vacancy is intended to ensure the implementation of the CFLA-funded project "Innovative Methodology for Management of Radon Emitted from Building Materials (MARE)" for the period from 01.09.2026 to 31.08.2028.
Planned salary: EUR 4061.51/month gross.
The election will take place in the Council of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. If a suitable candidate is found, the competition will be terminated early.
Candidates wishing to participate in the competition must submit electronically (signed with a secure electronic signature) to the Personnel Management Department of Riga Technical University at e-mail ([email protected]):
• An application addressed to the Rector regarding participation in the competition;
• Curriculum Vitae indicating scientific, pedagogical, and organizational work experience and a list of published works over the last 6 (six) years (it is recommended to attach the list of published works as a separate appendix), as well as other documents that the candidate wishes to attach to the application to more fully characterize their qualifications;
• Copies of documents certifying scientific/academic degrees or higher education and, if necessary, other documents specified in regulatory acts (for example, documents certifying the state language proficiency level, etc.), presenting their originals if the candidate is participating in the competition for employment at RTU for the first time and has not previously submitted copies of these documents to the Personnel Department;
• A public presentation report on their scientific activities, which must be presented to the structural unit (or council/board) in a timely manner before election.
