Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different professional roles. We are growing as the municipality develops with more residents, more housing, and greater services. We are always looking for new expertise - employees with different backgrounds and experiences, united by the drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in. Would you like to make a real difference for people living with mental health disabilities? We are seeking engaged and independent employees who want to work to strengthen individuals' opportunities for participation, self-determination, and an independent life. Your New Job As a Personal Advocate, you work on behalf of people over 18 years old with mental health disabilities who face significant difficulties in daily life and have extensive support needs from multiple different authorities and organizations. The target group often has long-term needs for care, support, rehabilitation, and coordination between, for example, social services, psychiatry, primary care, the Swedish Public Employment Service, and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. The advocate's mission is to start from the individual's own wishes and needs and support the person in their contact with various societal actors. In this role, you work to strengthen the individual's influence over their life situation and create conditions for increased participation in society. You support clients in contacts with authorities, coordinate meetings, inform about rights and opportunities, and work to ensure that the individual has access to the support and services they are entitled to. You work independently and closely with the client so they can exercise their rights and have their needs met. An important part of the assignment is also to identify and highlight shortcomings in society's support services for the target group and contribute to improved collaboration between relevant authorities and organizations. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in social work, behavioral science, social pedagogy, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speaking, reading, and writing. We also see that you have experience working with people living with mental health issues or mental health disabilities and good knowledge of how society's support services and authorities function. Experience with collaborative work and navigating between different organizations is particularly valuable. To thrive in this role, you need to be confident and able to work independently while finding it easy to build trusting relationships. You are attentive, persistent, and professional in your interactions. You have the ability to see the whole picture regarding the individual's needs while working in a structured and solution-focused manner. We place great emphasis on personal suitability in recruitment! What We Offer You We offer meaningful and developmental work where you have the opportunity every day to make a difference in people's lives. You become part of an operation characterized by commitment, collaboration, and a strong focus on the individual's conditions, rights, and opportunities.
