We are now looking for you to work as an hourly substitute (both day, evening, and awake nights) Additional Information Want to develop and make a difference in someone's everyday life? We are now looking for you to work as an hourly substitute (both day, evening, awake nights, and weekends) for a young man with severe CP injury who needs support around the clock. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and reliable, someone who enjoys a meaningful role where you contribute to the young man's quality of life. As a temporary employee, you work individual shifts on schedule (1-3/week) and substitute when colleagues cannot work for any reason. It is therefore important that you can work with short notice and that you are comfortable with all types of work shifts. About the Assignment You will work as a personal assistant for a cheerful and social 14-year-old boy who lives with severe CP injury and has difficulty with movement and mobility. He also has a severe hearing impairment, which makes eye contact very important. Besides school, the boy has a great interest in gaming, horseback riding, being in nature, and spending time with his family and other people. He wants to be part of what happens and enjoys coming up with activities. He appreciates an active and varied daily life, but where routines and predictability are important for creating security and stability. The boy lives at home with his mother, father, and sister and has his own part of the house that has been adapted for him and his assistants. The home is an 8-minute walk from the Storgatan stop in Staffanstorp. Your role involves being a support in his daily life both at home, at school, and during various activities. It means you are involved in everything that happens in the boy's life and provide physical and communicative support in all conceivable situations. You will become an important part of a team that actively works to provide him with a meaningful life based on his own needs, wishes, and circumstances. Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for someone who is confident, structured, attentive, and careful. Our team needs you to be proactive, brave, and responsible. Because the boy has certain challenges in social interaction and communication, it is crucial that you can read situations and express yourself in a clear and adapted way. The boy is susceptible to infection and therefore you must follow good hygiene routines and stay home even with a light cold. The family has pet allergies, but if you come in clean clothes, it is fine to have your own pets. Requirements and Wishes: It is a requirement that you are smoke and snuff-free. It is a requirement that you can swim and you must tolerate chlorine. It is a requirement that you can tolerate animals and are not afraid of horses. We wish that you have experience with alternative and augmentative communication and/or sign language, but most importantly, you are willing to learn this. Previous experience in personal assistance or working with people with functional variations is desirable, but not required. Working Hours and Introduction The boy has assistance around the clock with awake nights. Your introduction takes place primarily during day/evening time, but after the introduction, you will also work awake night shifts.
