Personal Assistant – Stockholm, Liljeholmskajen. I am looking for; Personal assistant Municipality: Stockholm (Liljeholmskajen) Quick facts about the job Scope: Part-time and as needed Employment type: As needed About the job I am a 63-year-old man looking for a personal assistant who is flexible and fits into my daily life in Stockholm. I have MS. I use a wheelchair full-time and have four children who have all moved out. My wife and I live in an adapted apartment on Liljeholmskajen in Stockholm. My left side is affected and my right arm and hand function well. I need help with everything that requires feet or two hands. This includes all ADL (activities of daily living); of course I help as much as I can, but for example I cannot put on socks myself no matter how much I want to. A simple task might be opening a letter, which is almost impossible with one hand but not a question with two hands. I receive massage and CP (contracture prophylaxis) a couple of times a week from my assistants. If you have experience, that's a plus. It's not difficult; I'm happy to show and explain. Among my interests, I can mention; food & drink, machinery & technology, color & form, hospitality, order & organization, joy & warmth, etc. I work in the tourism industry, hotels & restaurants mainly in Sweden but also abroad. I also have a number of interests in other industries both in Sweden and abroad. I have a wife who usually works from home, and I sometimes do as well, so there can be some quiet time. I also have many meetings, mostly in Stockholm and the surrounding area. Occasionally there may be work in the evenings and at certain times night work with sleeping on-call. (I cannot get out of bed without help) I then have an assistant room in my apartment available. On rare occasions, there may be trips with overnight stays. You who get the job may end up driving me in my car, which is adapted for disabled persons. (automatic and class B license) It is not a requirement to have a driver's license; I also have paratransit and enjoy using public transportation. You who apply should have a neat appearance and not be averse to occasionally assisting me in official settings. On the other hand, you should also not be averse to "rolling up your sleeves." It may sound worse than it is. But you will follow me in everything I do in my "crazy life." I want to be involved in everything and you will certainly get to experience new challenges. I am almost always cheerful and have a thousand ideas in my head. You will not get a boring job. I appreciate it if you are cheerful, helpful, and have a sense of humor. I would prefer female applicants; age is not that important. You should have Swedish as your native language or speak the language well. I sometimes need help writing on the computer or phone. I want to live a life that is as much like my life before my disability as possible. Of course, the illness limits what I can and cannot do. With assistance, my daily life will still be as good as it can be. Working hours vary. I run the assistance privately and have a collective agreement with Fremia.
