Description:

We are looking for a gastric surgeon to fill a full-time position at a hospital in Møre og Romsdal. The hospital is part of a dynamic healthcare organization in Western Norway. The surgical department includes several senior positions and is supported by a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality care. The department handles a wide range of surgical cases and is committed to continuous professional development and innovation. Responsibilities: Perform advanced surgical interventions for gastric and bowel-related diseases and traumas, including cholecystectomies, hernia repairs (both open and laparoscopic), colectomies and ostomies, hemorrhoidectomies, fundoplication and other surgeries related to the gastric system. Provide outpatient and inpatient care in collaboration with the surgical and multidisciplinary teams. Participate in on-call duties within the department. Supervise and mentor resident doctors and medical students. Contribute to the development of the department's surgical practices and protocols. Qualifications: Authorization to practice as a medical doctor within the EU. EU certification as a general surgeon with specialization in gastric surgery. Experience in gastric and bowel surgeries, including trauma management. Proficiency in English and motivation to learn Norwegian, supported by our free language course.
