Main requirements for candidates:
Compliance with the requirements of Section 21, paragraph 1 of the Law "On Police";
at least secondary education (at least 1st level higher professional education in law will be considered an advantage);
knowledge of regulatory acts governing municipal police work and binding regulations adopted by the municipality;
Category "B" driver's license (driving experience of at least 3 years);
knowledge of general and special record-keeping requirements;
knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding the use, provision and protection of information (data);
good interpersonal and communication skills;
ability to resolve conflict situations;
ability to independently organize work within one's competence;
excellent knowledge of the Latvian language;
ability to work with a computer (Internet use, email management, MS Office applications, etc.). Ability to work with the Administrative Violation Process Support System (APAS);
good general and special physical fitness;
impeccable reputation;
desirable 3 years of professional experience in state or municipal police work;
Main duties of the Senior Inspector of Municipal Police:
Ensure public order in the administrative territory of Madona Municipality, protect the life, health, rights and property of persons, and the interests of society and the state from unlawful threats;
Respond without delay to information about offenses, legal violations or other incidents and attend the scene;
Make procedural and substantive decisions or procedural decisions necessary for investigative activities in accordance with the competence specified in the Administrative Liability Law;
Verify persons, vehicles or other information in relevant information system databases;
Make decisions and carry out all procedural activities in the field of violations of Road Traffic Regulations regarding stopping and parking;
Prevent and stop legal violations, identify persons at fault, establish facts, collect and record evidence, obtain statements from involved persons and carry out other necessary activities in accordance with internal and external regulatory acts;
Input and verify information within its competence in the Administrative Violation Process Support System (APAS);
Supervise and monitor compliance with binding regulations adopted by the Madona Municipality Council;
Participate and speak at events organized by educational institutions on individual safety topics as well as events related to crime prevention;
Know and apply detention tactics and technical measures;
Provide emergency assistance;
In cooperation with other state or municipal institutions (agencies), carry out preventive measures to ensure public order;
Maintain public order at public events;
Cooperate with other institutions in the performance of work duties;
Review particularly complex petitions, complaints and suggestions received from natural and legal persons;
Direct, supervise and provide practical assistance and training to inspectors in work planning and execution;
Provide methodological guidance on the investigation of administrative violation cases, supervision of procedural activities and compliance with procedures;
