Recreational vessel operator's certificate (desirable);

Excellent Latvian language proficiency;

Main Duties of the Municipal Police Environmental Inspector:
Inspect and conduct checks in public water bodies within the municipality's administrative territory;
Monitor compliance with fishing and angling regulations;
Conduct inspections at water locations and their immediate surroundings, verify documents and permits, inspect fishing equipment and possessions;
Supervise compliance with vessel operation and use regulations, acting within the scope of office authority;
Monitor, investigate, and document illegal waste dumping and water pollution cases;
Identify environmental violations, collect evidence, prepare official documents for violation registration, initiate and manage proceedings in administrative violation cases, issue decisions as prescribed;
Cooperate with other institutions, including State Police and the State Environmental Service, for effective performance of duties;
Enter and verify information within one's competence in the Administrative Violation Process Support System (APAS);
Supervise and control compliance with binding regulations adopted by Madona and Varakļāni Municipality Councils;
Conducts preventive measures in cooperation with other state and municipal institutions to maintain public order;
Ensure public order at public events.
