Main Requirements for Candidates:
- Compliance with the requirements of Section 21, Paragraph 1 of the Law "On Police";
- At least secondary education (at least 1st level vocational higher education in law sciences is preferred);
- Knowledge of regulations governing municipal police operations and binding regulations adopted by the municipality;
- Category "B" driver's license (with at least 3 years of driving experience);
- Knowledge of general and special record-keeping requirements;
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding information (data) use, provision, and protection;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to resolve conflict situations;
- Ability to independently organize work within own competence;
- Excellent Latvian language proficiency;
- Computer literacy (internet use, email management, MS Office programs, etc.). Ability to work with the Administrative Violations Process Support System (APAS);
- Good general and special physical fitness;
- Impeccable reputation;
- Preferred: 3 years of professional experience in state or municipal police work.
Main Duties of Municipal Police Inspector:
- Ensure public order in Madona Municipality's administrative territory, protect individuals' lives, health, rights, property, and public and state interests from unlawful threats;
- Respond immediately to information and travel to incidents involving law violations, rights violations, or other events;
- Make procedural and substantive decisions or procedural decisions necessary for investigative activities in accordance with competencies defined in the Administrative Liability Law;
- Check persons, vehicles, or other information in relevant information system databases;
- Make decisions and carry out all procedural actions in the field of traffic rule parking violations;
- Prevent and stop law violations, identify responsible persons, establish facts, collect and record evidence, obtain explanations from involved persons, and carry out other necessary activities in accordance with internal and external regulations;
- Within own competence, enter and verify information in the Administrative Violations Process Support System (APAS);
- Monitor and control compliance with binding regulations adopted by Madona Municipality Council;
- Participate and speak at events organized by educational institutions on individual safety topics and events addressing crime prevention;
- Master and apply detention tactical and technical methods;
- Provide emergency assistance;
- In cooperation with other state or municipal institutions, conduct preventive measures for public order compliance;
- Ensure public order at public events.
