Read more at soyagroup.com 1 position(s). Wallenius Marine is seeking a Chief Officer for the vessel Thuleland. Thuleland is a RoRo vessel operating within the WalleniusSOL unit and primarily operates in the North Sea. About the Position The role of Chief Officer aboard Thuleland is developmentally rewarding, varied, and fast-paced. You will work closely with other nautical officers and be responsible for ensuring that safety, efficiency, and quality are prioritized aboard. As the second-highest ranking officer after the Captain, you will be vital to the vessel and its daily operations. Examples of job responsibilities: • Supervise the deck crew and daily operations aboard • Plan and oversee loading, unloading, and cargo securing • Ensure vessel safety, lifesaving, and fire equipment readiness • Stand navigation watch and assist the Captain • Ensure compliance with regulations, procedures, and safety requirements Thuleland operates with both Filipino and Swedish crew. Since we have a mixed crew, English is spoken aboard. Terms • The position is a permanent employment with customary probationary period • Contract length: approximately 4 weeks (1:1 rotation system) • European Agreement. Swedish flag • Start date by agreement. The position may be filled before the closing date. Requirements Requirements for the position: • Certification as Chief Officer • Valid certificates and documents for the position in accordance with STCW Manila • Good English proficiency – ability to communicate effectively in both speech and writing Meritorious Qualifications and Personal Qualities It is advantageous if you: • Have previous experience from similar Ro-Ro vessels • Have prior work experience in the Chief Officer role You are a positive person who is self-directed, proactive, and a confident leader with drive who is stimulated by new challenges. Your work style is service-oriented, solution-focused, and safety-conscious. It is important that you are communicative, value collaboration with others, and have insight into leading people of different nationalities, as our vessels are also staffed with Filipino crew.
