About Us Surgery at Sahlgrenska comprises three inpatient wards and one outpatient unit with an associated day surgery unit. The operations are divided into four sections with the following focus areas: acute and trauma surgery, endocrine and sarcoma surgery, breast and melanoma surgery, and upper gastrointestinal surgery. The Breast and Melanoma Surgery Section provides both regional healthcare and nationally specialized care with a focus on surgical development in a research-intensive environment. The operations are guided by Sahlgrenska University Hospital's common vision and goals, which include providing healthcare, research, development, and education of the highest quality. What We Offer We offer you the opportunity for surgical and academic development in caring for patients with melanoma and breast cancer at Sweden's largest unit for these diseases. An active multidisciplinary approach provides a developmental learning environment where, as a surgeon, you are part of the entire treatment chain for cancer patients. Surgery offers breadth and volume, as well as the opportunity to develop specialized expertise within highly specialized care including advanced metastatic surgery and isolated hyperthermic perfusion (ILP). The field is research-intensive with significant development opportunities. Duties The work involves caring for patients with breast cancer and malignant melanoma. Outpatient activities and day surgery operations form the majority of the work, which is based on well-functioning multidisciplinary collaboration. Work is conducted during daytime hours. Participation in general surgical on-call duties based on individual competence and experience. The duties also include teaching and continuous development work. The section has high research intensity, which is a natural part of the operations. The work is largely conducted in a multidisciplinary context with multiprofessional patient care. About You We are looking for a Senior Physician/Specialist Physician in surgery with a special interest in breast and melanoma surgery. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, which includes the ability to work in a small group, take responsibility, and develop and build operations within a cross-professional and multidisciplinary team.
