We are now seeking a teacher in social studies (SO) at Strandskolan in Överkalix. Here you will have the opportunity to develop teaching together with colleagues and create good conditions for each student to succeed and develop as far as possible. Strandskolan is located in the municipality's central school area. Here you will find Åkerskolan F–3 with after-school care and Strandskolan 4–9, with a total of approximately 200 students. The school area also includes language introduction, SFI, adult education (komvux), preschool, student services, and administration. In close proximity you will find, among other things, a swimming pool, library, sports field, ice hall, and fitness center. In Överkalix, there is easy access to both services, nature, and recreational activities. There is a rich cultural life and good opportunities for an active leisure time year-round. If you enjoy outdoor activities, nature is always nearby. Job Description As a teacher in SO, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on Lgr22. You create teaching that awakens interest and curiosity and gives students with different knowledge levels and needs the opportunity to develop as far as possible. You are part of both work teams and subject teams and work together with colleagues to develop teaching and create good conditions for student learning. Mentorship together with a colleague may also be part of the position. Duties Your role includes: Planning, implementing, following up, and analyzing teaching based on Lgr22 Adapting teaching and providing students with both support and challenge Monitoring and assessing students' knowledge development, taking responsibility for grading, and using results to develop and adapt teaching Early identification of students at risk of not meeting goals and actively working with relevant interventions and follow-up Working for safety, academic focus, and good relationships Collaborating with colleagues, student services, and guardians regarding student learning and development Actively contributing to the school's systematic quality work and collegial development work What We Offer At Strandskolan, we work closely together. You will have the opportunity to influence and develop teaching together with colleagues. Qualifications Education You are a certified teacher with the authority to teach SO in grades 4–6 and/or 7–9. Certification in additional subjects is a merit, as the position may possibly be combined with another subject. Experience Experience teaching SO is a merit. We would like to see that you have experience meeting students with different knowledge levels and needs, as well as experience in following up and developing teaching based on students' knowledge development. You have high expectations of students and believe in their ability to develop. You are positive, engaged, solution-focused, and have a talent for collaboration. You take responsibility for your assignment and want to contribute together with colleagues to the school's continued development. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Duration/Working Hours The position is a fixed-term employment at 60% until 2026-12-18, with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement. Salary Monthly salary.
