Our Employee Journey
At Ovako, we believe work is more than just a job – it's an opportunity to be part of something meaningful. We foster an open and friendly atmosphere where every individual is valued and where there are opportunities for personal and professional development. Many of us find satisfaction in knowing that our work contributes to making the world a better place.
As a Nordic global leader in sustainable steel, Ovako is not just a workplace, it's a community that shapes a better future. While some might call us modest, the truth is that we understand real change starts with ourselves. Join us on this journey of change, where nature's beauty is just around the corner. Be a catalyst for positive change at Ovako.
In our ongoing effort to find the right people for our operations at Ovako in Hällefors, we are now seeking Industrial Apprentices. As an apprentice at Ovako, you will have an apprenticeship supervisor who ensures you are brought into the work. Together with your supervisor and work management, you will have scheduled follow-ups to ensure you receive the training and competence you need during the 10-month apprenticeship period.
During the Industrial Apprenticeship period, you will be employed on a fixed-term basis by the company, and after this there may be an opportunity for a permanent position. The number of apprenticeships is linked to the retirements we have in the coming years.
The Industrial Apprenticeship positions may be available throughout our entire manufacturing process or within maintenance. For apprentices in operator positions and mechanic roles, we require basic school education, while upper secondary education is a merit. For apprentices in electrical technician roles, we require 3 years of upper secondary education, preferably in electrical technology.
We see that you are at least 18 years old. A driver's license is a merit.

We strive for diversity in the workplace and welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences.
Safety is important to us at Ovako and is our highest priority. Before employment, we therefore conduct drug testing.
We look forward to your application!
