Within the Exhibition Production unit, we are responsible for all of the museum's exhibitions. This means we maintain our existing exhibitions, work with borrowed exhibitions, and continuously develop new in-house exhibition projects in both art and cultural history. We are currently in an intensive phase of implementing a new permanent exhibition about the history of computers in Sweden and Östergötland, which represents a major investment for the museum.

Responsibilities
- Develop construction solutions and technical solutions for new exhibitions, including cost estimates and planning for procurement of materials and services.
- Exhibition construction including carpentry, construction, assembly of exhibition environments, display cases, scenography, interactive installations, custom furnishings, and printing.
- Design and installation of analog and digital interactions.
- Handling and installation of art and delicate objects in consultation with other museum staff.
- In coordination with the exhibition producer, develop creative proposals for solutions to advance concepts regarding materials, construction, and execution.
- Ongoing maintenance and care of the museum's exhibitions.
Qualifications
You have secondary or post-secondary education in, for example, interior carpentry, carpentry, design, or scenic technology, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
You have a strong ability to translate concepts and design ideas into sustainable and feasible constructions, and can develop production solutions and material choices that are resource-efficient in terms of time, budget, operational safety, and long-term sustainability.
We would like you to have worked in public environments - for example, science centers, museums, stage production, theater, TV, events, or similar. Experience working with digital or analog interactions or digital technology is highly desired. It is also advantageous if you have worked with AV technology installation, have experience using 3D programs such as Rhino or Sketchup, or experience with the Blocks CMS/control system from Pixilab or similar. Additional experience we value includes knowledge of handling and installing art and delicate museum objects, as well as climate and security matters related to that. Knowledge and interest in digital technology, basic programming, and media production are also considered valuable.
But most importantly, you are inventive and clever! You enjoy transforming creative and perhaps untested visions into practical reality. You are a problem-solver who finds smart, innovative, functional, and feasible solutions. We would appreciate if you have a good eye for color and form and are not afraid to experiment with new materials. You have strong collaboration skills, while also independently driving your processes forward. To thrive in this role, you need to enjoy working toward deadlines and balancing between long-term and short-term planning horizons. You have the ability to recognize when it is important to be thorough and when it is more important to be efficient, and you are comfortable in a dynamic environment with varying conditions.
