The Church of Sweden in Lund is a pastorate comprising 7 parishes, 1 cathedral, 15 churches including one collaborative church with EFS, 3 chapels, and 2 preschools, along with burial services and an administrative office.
We also have a Hospital Church, Family Counseling, and a Diaconal Center. We employ over 200 staff members and numerous volunteers, including over 130 elected representatives. The Church Council holds overall responsibility, and all activities are led by the Cathedral Dean. Each parish has a Parish Council and Parish Priest.
Do you want to help shape the musical life of one of the Nordic region's most renowned cathedrals? Lund Cathedral is seeking an organist with high artistic and liturgical competence, who through music wishes to strengthen the life within and around the cathedral.
The position of organist at Lund Cathedral involves close collaboration between worship services, concerts, choir activities, and daily work in the Cathedral community. We are also the cathedral of the diocese, which brings many exciting responsibilities and partnerships throughout the region.
We are seeking a church musician:
*with competence in both liturgical and solo organ playing
*with documented experience as a choir director
*who through music wants to strengthen the life at and around the cathedral
*who will contribute to a vibrant and inclusive musical life of high quality
*who finds joy in celebrating worship services and shares the values of the Church of Sweden.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
*holds a Church Musician Diploma A
*is both an organist and choir director
*is comfortable working independently as well as in close collaboration with others
*builds relationships and has the ability to develop teams and collaborate
*wants to contribute to the Cathedral's worship life, particularly its High Mass
*has good administrative abilities
*is able to represent and host the Cathedral's musical life in meetings with both national and international musicians, guests, and partners.
