About the Role
In the Optics department, optical lenses are manufactured for IR products and thermal cameras for both commercial and military use. Manufacturing is performed with nanometer precision. The process consists of several steps such as grinding, polishing, diamond turning, and coating, where the lenses undergo multiple processing steps at each station.
A total of 25 employees work in the department, including both experienced operators and team leaders. It is varied work where you gain good insight into the entire production chain and the opportunity to work in a team with high knowledge levels and strong team spirit.
Working hours are arranged in 2 shifts.
Shift Times (2-shift)
Morning: Monday - Thursday 06:00-14:09, Friday 06:00 - 12:09
Afternoon: Monday - Thursday 13:51-22:00, Friday 11:51 - 18:00
Your Responsibilities
A large part of the work involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines with adjustments and modifications requiring very high precision. Material properties vary depending on handling, and great focus is placed on learning the material and how it behaves under different conditions. In addition to CNC machines, you will also work with laser measurement instruments. The work is performed in teams where you collectively are responsible for meeting set goals and delivering according to quality requirements.
Common tasks include:
- Programming and setting up CNC machines based on, for example, temperature and feed rate
- Turning the lenses by operating CNC machines
- Blueprint reading
- Record keeping
- Inspection and quality control
Your Profile

The work requires that you are thorough and have strong quality awareness. In addition, the role requires close collaboration with colleagues and other functions, which requires that you are a team player with good collaboration skills and a positive attitude.
For this role, we are looking for someone with:
- Education in electronics or engineering
- CNC training with practical experience such as APL or apprenticeship
- Experience working in a production environment
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English; the group language at the company is English and machines and instructions are in English
We would like you to have experience with CNC machining with high precision requirements. Experience from optics, precision mechanics, or other precision industries is a plus.
This position may involve access to export-controlled information and technology covered by U.S. export control regulations (ITAR/EAR). Therefore, it is required that the person hired meets the requirements to apply for and obtain the necessary export licenses from U.S. authorities.
