Operational Traffic Information Officer – Fixed-Term Position

As an operational traffic information officer, you are responsible for delivering accurate and timely information, and you help ensure that everyone gets where they need to go smoothly, safely, and on time. As an operational traffic information officer, you will have an educational, challenging, and engaging role with comprehensive onboarding, training, and mentorship to help you get started on the right foot. Our traffic information officers ensure that the information flow works and that train passengers receive correct information and good alternative travel options when something unexpected happens in traffic. This can range from delayed and cancelled trains to platform changes. You play an important role in collecting, compiling, and communicating information about traffic conditions, both to your colleagues and to, for example, railway companies. You do this through computerized monitoring systems and cooperation with external partners, traffic controllers, and other traffic information officers. You inform train passengers primarily via platform displays, monitors, and public address systems, and you provide the foundation for information on various websites, apps, and media. When train traffic runs as planned, you will have calm periods where you mainly monitor and remain ready in case the traffic situation changes. When an incident occurs, the pace picks up and there is a lot of activity in the operations room. It is important that you are comfortable in an environment where the pace becomes hectic and sometimes loud. Since operations run 24/7, as a traffic information officer you will work various shifts according to schedule, 365 days a year and around the clock, including night duty. The base salary is 30,000-31,500 kr/month and this applies also during the training period. This is a fixed-term position through December 30, 2027, with possible extension. You will start with paid training on-site at the Traffic Control Center in Gothenburg. Qualifications Who are you? You always keep the passenger in focus and enjoy working in an operational and dynamic environment. You are attentive and communicative, and you have a natural ability to express yourself in a calm and clear manner. In your daily work, you have no problem maintaining concentration even during quieter periods, and you understand that monitoring requires focus and responsibility. But you are also the type who quickly ramps up when the pace increases—you keep your head cool, prioritize correctly, and solve situations together with your colleagues. You enjoy working with others and have a natural ability to build good relationships. At the same time, you are analytical and proactive, ensuring that you stay one step ahead, always with the passenger's best interests in mind. You are motivated by active employee engagement where you take responsibility for your tasks in a goal-oriented manner while being aware of how you are part of and contribute to the bigger picture through cooperation with others. We are looking for someone who has: - Upper secondary education, or equivalent knowledge from other studies - At least 1 year of work experience - Experience working with multiple digital programs and/or IT systems - Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish It is advantageous if you have: - Professional experience from operational activities such as a traffic control center, alarm center, operations control center, or other comparable event-driven operational work - Current experience working inconvenient hours, such as shifts (varying between day, evening, weekends, and night) Other Information You need to attach your CV with your application.
