The Center for the Locomotor System (ROC) Umeå provides university hospital care in orthopedics, including spinal surgery in the Northern Healthcare Region, covering the four northernmost counties. ROC is also the county hospital for orthopedics in Västerbotten and the regional hospital for the Umeå area. The Center for the Locomotor System is divided into sections: Artho, Factum, Trauma, and Spine, all of which conduct thousands of patient visits, treatments, and surgical procedures annually. Together with the Surgical and Orthopedic Clinic in Lycksele and the Surgical Unit in Skellefteå, we are responsible for all orthopedic care in the county. The Center for the Locomotor System is a University Hospital Unit (USVE) where research and student mentoring are a natural part of daily clinical work. Our diverse operations are viewed as stimulating by our staff, as activities are divided among different sections. This provides varied work and a broad medical knowledge base. Our operations encompass everything from assessments of patients' acute orthopedic problems in emergency care at the clinic and ward to elective orthopedic surgery and extensive fracture and trauma surgery. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an operations planner with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel secure. As an operations planner, you will be the hub connecting many moving parts. You are primarily responsible for leading and driving operative planning. This means you manage patient contacts, surgical scheduling, waiting lists, and statistics in these areas while collaborating with relevant medical directors, section leaders, surgeons, other operations planners, the surgical department, our day-surgery unit, the ward, and external facilities. Other responsibilities include telephone consultations, monitoring production planning and waiting lists, participating in surgical planning meetings and county collaboration meetings. You will also serve as the liaison between various sections and units within ROC. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone who is either a licensed nurse or has other appropriate education that the employer deems relevant within healthcare and/or logistics. You are capable of working independently, have strong collaborative skills, and are flexible in thinking and action. You should have a structured approach to work and be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. You have high drive and want to influence quality and development through your work. We also appreciate that you are interested in promoting and advancing patient safety, accessibility, and a good work environment. It is advantageous if you already have experience with Cosmic and Orbit-5 systems, are proficient in Microsoft Office, and have previous experience in surgical and/or orthopedic healthcare.
