Welcome to us In our Social Services and Recreation department at Bromma District Administration, we are responsible for providing services based on the target groups in the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain People with Disabilities (LSS). We work together, prioritize development and forward-thinking to best work for the future of social services and meet our citizens in a changing society. We always keep the residents of Bromma in focus to be able to offer good quality in everything we do and offer. The department is organized into four areas, each led by an area director, plus a staff unit. In the fall, a reorganization will take place and a new area; Promotion, Prevention and Support Services, will be established. After the reorganization, the area will consist of three units, each led by a unit manager and a methodology developer who is part of the area's management group. The area will include; the Promotion and Prevention unit consisting of youth recreational activities, school social workers, field assistants, citizen centers and holiday jobs, and the Housing and Support Services units 1 and 2, which consist of housing support, pilot and training apartments, Bromma Employment Center and Långskeppet socio-psychiatric group home. Read more about our benefits: here Your role As an area director, you have overall budget, personnel and operational responsibility for the area of Promotion, Prevention and Support Services. You lead and work closely with the unit managers in the area's management group and also have support from a large internal and external network. The area has approximately 78 employees where the assignments include housing and support services as well as activities within promotion and prevention work at Bromma District Administration. You lead through the unit managers and ensure that they have the right conditions to succeed in their assignments. You also have an administrator and a methodology developer who are part of the area's management group. The methodology developer is a strategic key person who supports the area director and unit managers in work with goals and budget work, follow-up and development and quality monitoring. The units within the area are characterized by openness and trust where everyone helps each other and provides each other with inspiration and knowledge, which contributes to the whole. We work together to ensure that residents in Bromma experience the operations as a cohesive social service with high quality and that young people have meaningful and enjoyable leisure time. As an area director, you report to the department director and are part of the department management where we together are responsible for driving and developing issues that are common to the entire department. Your competence and experience We are looking for you who have: a degree in social work or other higher education that the employer deems equivalent, relevant and several years of management experience from social services' implementation activities within politically governed operations, very good knowledge of social services' operations, good knowledge of current and relevant legislation and regulations as well as employer and work environment issues, relevant experience of working with change management and development work, good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish. It is advantageous if you have: relevant experience of leading through other managers, experience in a corresponding management role, management experience within all operational areas that will be included in the area, leadership training. Your personal skills and abilities The management assignment is both developing and challenging. The assignment requires initiative, perseverance and leadership characterized by clarity, communication, trust and courage to handle complex situations. We see that you are proactive and driven in development work. You promote new thinking and engage your employees. You work towards goals and focus on results and adapt your direction when conditions change. You have a holistic perspective and look out for the entire operation's best interests in actions and decisions. You communicate clearly both in writing and verbally and ensure that expectations are clear. The role requires good collaboration skills as it involves extensive cooperation in the management group and with other actors.
