Eye Clinic, Nyköping Hospital About Us Region Sörmland's eye clinic is a county clinic with departments located at hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. We perform approximately 60,000 visits per year and operate both surgical and outpatient services, including emergency care. Nyköping is an outpatient clinic with approximately 28 staff members. Those of us working here are physicians, nurses, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, opticians, nurse assistants, and administrative staff, all with different expertise to provide our patients with the best care. Your Responsibilities As a nurse or master's optician at our eye clinic, you will have varied and engaging work. Tasks at the clinic include preparing patients for doctor visits through various examinations, and you may also have your own independent clinics, such as fundus photography and visual field examinations. A large patient group we serve are those with macular degeneration problems. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses perform after proper training. TeleQ consultations are also part of your responsibilities as a nurse/master's optician, though this becomes relevant after you gain some experience with our operations. At our eye clinic, it is important to us to provide you with thorough orientation and training so you feel confident working independently. You will have a mentor you can always turn to with questions and concerns, and of course, other colleagues are always nearby. Your Qualifications In your formal basic qualifications, you are a licensed nurse in health and medical care, an ophthalmic nurse, operating room nurse, or master's optician, preferably with some years of experience. You are attentive, accustomed to taking responsibility, have good ability to collaborate within and between professions, and have a positive attitude toward your work.
