JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for you who want to be part of creating conditions for collaboration, new knowledge, and a strong future.
As a systems specialist in Clinical Pathology, you will be part of a team with systems specialists, IT technicians/technology specialists, and an MT engineer. Together, you are responsible for the laboratory's system support regarding both development, new functionality, and ongoing management. In this role, you will also handle specific IT-related specialized functions for the department, currently specifically filling a coordinating function between our own system support and the PACS digital imaging system, which is managed by another unit. These functions may take up a varying portion of the position but up to approximately 50%. The work is carried out in collaboration with other team members.
The work is conducted in close collaboration with other functions within the laboratory, the region, and in some cases across regional boundaries. This means many contact points and varying work days.
Examples of work tasks:
· Configure and administer system support (e.g., test new functions, manage permissions)
· Plan and conduct acceptance testing during upgrades and changes
· Troubleshoot and investigate incoming issues related to systems
· Train users and develop training materials
· Participate in work with process flows to improve operations
· Gather requirements from operations and propose improvements related to system support
· Set requirements toward suppliers to ensure operational needs are met
· Participate in and/or lead both smaller and larger projects related to systems
· Department-specific IT-related development matters
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who has technical systems understanding and interest in healthcare operations—or vice versa: operational understanding and a strong desire to develop your IT competence.
You have:
· Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as systems science, medical technology, or laboratory medicine.
Examples of backgrounds that fit well:
o Biomedical analyst/medical biologist/molecular biologist with IT interest/experience
o Systems scientist with insight into laboratory operations
o Medical technology engineer with understanding of healthcare workflows
· Good computer skills and aptitude for learning new systems and digital tools
· Experience with or interest in system management and development
· Ability to analyze problems, think structurally, and see connections in complex workflows
· Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel
· Good collaboration skills, but also comfortable working independently
· Comfortable presenting and training colleagues
Since the role involves many contact points, good communication skills in both spoken and written language are important.
If you do not already have laboratory experience, some introduction and practical work can be offered when you start.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities, your engagement, and your motivation for the role.
Employment form: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent, start date: As soon as possible by agreement.
Working hours: Daytime.
