YOUR DAY-TO-DAY You'll become part of the maintenance organization and work with investment, maintenance, and improvement projects at the refinery. Projects vary from minor modifications to larger multidisciplinary initiatives in production, safety, energy efficiency, and facility development. This is a role for someone who wants to work close to operations and follow projects all the way – from early investigations and technical solution choices to installation, commissioning, and handover. You're responsible for instrumentation-related matters throughout the entire project cycle and ensure that projects are completed with the right quality, on time, and on budget. In the role, you work in a complex and safety-critical process environment where you have many contact points and collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, process, electrical, mechanical, contractors, and suppliers. Your work tasks include, among other things: Drive instrumentation-related projects and technical investigations from feasibility study to commissioning Develop technical solutions and specifications for field instruments, control valves, and analysis systems Plan projects together with internal stakeholders and ensure progress in activities Prepare and review drawings, technical documentation, and other materials Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal functions through different project phases Carry out technical investigations, risk assessments, and contribute to improvements that reduce operational risks Ensure that solutions meet requirements within safety, work environment, environment, and quality Participate in FAT, SAT, loop tests, inspections, and commissioning You'll become an important part of a refinery that is in an exciting development phase where both the existing facility is being developed and new initiatives in future energy solutions are growing. WHO ARE YOU We're looking for someone with an engineering degree in automation, electrical engineering, or similar, or equivalent experience from industry. You likely have several years of experience from the process industry and have worked with instruments, automation, or technical projects in complex facility environments. We believe you have experience driving projects or subprojects and feel comfortable coordinating different stakeholders to create progress and drive work forward. If you have experience from refineries, chemical, energy, petrochemical, or other heavy process industries, we see that as a merit, as well as experience from maintenance organizations or other operations-related work. It's also positive if you have knowledge in areas such as ATEX, SIL, IEC standards, analysis systems, or technical calculations. As a person, you're organized, solution-oriented, and comfortable taking responsibility. You thrive in a role with many contact points and have an easy time collaborating with different functions. At the same time, you're motivated by combining technology, coordination, and problem-solving – and by seeing your solutions work in reality. Since St1 Refinery conducts a socially important operation, background checks are always performed before an employment offer. At the interview, a valid ID document approved for Sweden must be presented. St1 Refinery is also partially a security-classified company and a security clearance with record check may therefore be conducted if necessary.
