Your responsibilities As a network technician with us, you'll have a varied and responsible role working in an environment with switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks. You'll be part of the third-line support team and work on troubleshooting the municipality's IT network while participating in various operational and development projects. Your responsibilities also include important work on continuous system documentation. A large part of the role involves close dialogue with our customers, consisting of municipal departments and municipal companies, as well as communication with our external suppliers. Based on your specialized expertise, we have good opportunities to tailor the role—for example, with a focus on programming and automation of configuration, or toward implementation and design of network architecture. Your workplace The IT Department is part of Business Support and Service within Linköping Municipality. About 100 colleagues here work to provide IT services to municipal operations, which ultimately creates value for users, students, and residents in Linköping. We work in a process-oriented manner in accordance with ITIL Service Management and are certified according to ISO 20000, which gives us the right conditions to maintain high quality and efficiency throughout our operations. In the Systems & Communications department, we work on the operation and development of the municipality's combined server infrastructure, networks, and databases on both Windows and Linux platforms. We also manage all the systems that make up the IT landscape in Linköping Municipality. There are 14 people in the department, with most of us working as network technicians or systems technicians. We work together in modern, activity-based offices at Ebbepark. Working hours are standard office hours with flexible time arrangements, meaning you have the trust to schedule your work based on operational needs, and there is some possibility for remote work. About you We're looking for someone with completed secondary education or another education we consider equivalent. To succeed in this role, you need practical experience working with switches, routers, access points, wireless networks, and firewalls. Since communication and system documentation are important parts of your daily work, you must have good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. The position also requires a Class B driver's license. It would be advantageous for the role if you have a certification in CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent. We also consider it a valuable addition if your background includes experience with project work, either as a project participant or project manager. Additionally, we value experience with automation and scripting, as well as network design and architecture. If you have previously worked with network infrastructure in municipal operations, this is another advantage in your work with us. As a person, you have good teamwork skills, which means you work well with other people, relate to them in a receptive and flexible manner, and listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. You're also self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks by structuring your approach and driving your processes forward. In your professional role, you're service-oriented and maintain a calm, attentive, and accommodating demeanor, with interest, willingness, and ability to help others while striving to deliver solutions. Furthermore, you're relationship-oriented, meaning you're outgoing and socially active in professional contexts, and you enjoy creating contacts and maintaining relationships. Finally, you have good problem-solving and analytical skills that enable you to work well with complex issues; you analyze and break down problems into their components to effectively solve complicated challenges. Since employment for this position is classified as a security position, Swedish citizenship is required. A security clearance with background check will be conducted before employment by Linköping Municipality once the selection process is complete.
