Deputy Director for Library Services

The Study and Scientific Library of Plzeň Region (SVK PK) is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to take on the management and coordination of services in accordance with applicable legislation and the organization's strategic objectives. The position includes responsibility for the development of library and information services, methodological guidance of professional processes, creation of conceptual documents, ensuring service quality, personnel management, and collaboration with external partners in the fields of librarianship and education. Place of work: Plzeň Start date: negotiable What we require: • Higher education (preferably in librarianship or information studies), • Experience in librarianship or information services, with at least 5 years in a management position, • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Library Act No. 257/2001 Coll. and related regulations), • User-level proficiency with MS Office tools, minimum at ICDL Profile Digital Literacy Certificate level, • Knowledge of English or German language (minimum B2 level). What we expect: • Broad knowledge and understanding of library and information sciences, • Coordination of library services during periods of social change and changes in librarianship, • Ability to manage change, • Responsibility for development and innovation in library and information services, • Creation of methodologies and process optimization, • Collaboration on developing conceptual, strategic, and development documents for the regional library, • Ensuring compliance with library standards and service quality, • Responsibility, reliability, independence, and teamwork skills, • Personnel management within the assigned department, • Active collaboration with external partners, libraries, professional institutions, and representatives of public administration at regional and national levels, • Ability for strategic and conceptual thinking, • Excellent organizational and communication skills. What we offer: • Classification in salary grade 12 according to Government Regulation No. 341/2017 Coll., on the remuneration of employees in public services and administration, with a salary range of 31,230 to 45,260 Kč.
