Music Teacher/Special Education Teacher for Adapted Elementary School

Description We are now seeking a music/aesthetic education teacher for grades 1-6 and 7-9 at our adapted elementary school who wants to play an important role in students' development and have the opportunity to make a real difference in their lives. Job Responsibilities As a music teacher/aesthetic education teacher in an adapted elementary school, your main task is to stimulate and develop students' musical abilities according to the curriculum and each student's individual needs, conditions, and strengths. You plan, implement, and evaluate instruction with a focus on participation, communication, and creative joy. Through varied work methods, adapted strategies, and accessible learning environments, you create conditions for all students to develop and experience success in their learning. Together with students and colleagues, you continuously work to improve instruction and contribute to a safe, inspiring, and inclusive school environment. The position is divided between two units within the adapted elementary school: Hultbergs Adapted Elementary School grades 1-6 (20%) and Ilanda Adapted Elementary School grades 7-9 (20%). At Hultsbergsskolan's adapted elementary school, all students study subject areas. At Ilandaskolans adapted elementary school there are two classes, one studying subjects and the other studying subject areas. Based on your qualifications and preferences, there is an opportunity to expand the position at Hultsbergsskolan for instruction on additional days. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with authorization to teach music/aesthetic education. You have a good ability to adapt instruction based on students' individual needs and conditions and see possibilities in every student's development and learning. For this position, you must meet, or have the potential to meet, the certification requirements for teaching in an adapted elementary school. It is therefore advantageous, and a requirement according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's regulations, that you hold a special education teacher degree with specialization in intellectual disabilities, in order to qualify for a permanent position. We are looking for someone who: Has high integrity and a professional approach. Is self-directed and takes responsibility for planning, implementing, and developing instruction. Has good collaborative skills and enjoys working in multiprofessional teams together with teachers, student assistants, student support services, and guardians. Is skilled at creating and developing trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Has specialist knowledge or a strong interest in special education methods for students with intellectual disabilities. Has the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and accessible learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to succeed and develop according to their conditions.
