Job Responsibilities
As a native language teacher in Helsingborg, you typically combine two important assignments: serving as a native language teacher and study guidance counselor.
In your role as a native language teacher, you are responsible for teaching students according to the curriculum in the native language subject, which means planning lessons and adapting instruction based on each student's language level, needs, and age. You continuously assess students' development, conduct evaluations, and assign grades according to given grading criteria. Native language instruction in primary school consists of 60 minutes/lesson per week, while instruction in secondary school consists of 100 minutes/lesson per week. This may mean that working hours in some cases extend until 6:00 PM. All instruction is held at schools in Helsingborg City.
As a study guidance counselor, you support students in understanding and acquiring content in various subjects in their native language or strongest language. This often occurs in parallel with instruction, and your role is to support the student's language and knowledge development in various school subjects.
In your role as a native language teacher and study guidance counselor, you will work across all school forms, and in study guidance you support students in all subjects based on their needs.
We are seeking you with Hungarian as your native language.
To work with us, you will need to work on Wednesdays.
Digital interviews will take place on 7/8 and onwards.
What We Offer
We offer you varied, responsible, and stimulating work with opportunities for personal development. The workplace is smoke-free and health-conscious. As an employee, you receive a wellness allowance of 3,000 kronor per year.
Qualifications
We are primarily seeking someone who holds Swedish teacher certification with competency in the native language subject. Otherwise, you should have other relevant academic education, where pedagogical training is a merit. You should have very good knowledge of the Swedish language; be able to speak, read, and write fluently, and have completed Swedish 3 at the secondary school level.
You are expected to be able to work goal-oriented and have a deep understanding of the national and municipal governing documents that direct school operations. Your ability to plan, implement, and evaluate instruction in accordance with these governing documents is essential to ensure equivalence, high quality, and goal attainment.
In the role of native language teacher and study guidance counselor, it is also important that you are comfortable using digital tools both in instruction and for administrative purposes. You should be able to plan and conduct lessons with the support of digital tools and use IT systems to document and monitor student knowledge development. The work requires that you are self-directed and can organize your work independently, while carefully managing administrative tasks such as documentation, assessment, and grading.
