Native Language Teacher in Hungarian

Welcome to us! Your responsibilities Would you like to give children and young people the key to their multilingualism and strengthen their academic achievement in school? As a native language teacher in Hungarian, you have a stimulating and independent assignment where you plan, implement, follow up, and assess teaching based on the curriculum in the native language subject and applicable grading criteria. The assignment includes study guidance in the native language, which supports subject instruction. Native language instruction is scheduled outside students' regular school hours and occurs primarily in the afternoons immediately following the end of the school day, but may occasionally also occur in the morning. Digital tools are a natural part of teaching and documentation of student knowledge development. You work closely with students' guardians and collaborate with classroom teachers and staff at the relevant schools. Your workplace The Multilingualism Unit is part of the Special and Support Services Operations Area and has municipality-wide responsibility for native language instruction and study guidance in primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. Together with schools, we have the assignment to give students the opportunity to develop their multilingualism, multicultural identity and competence, and increase their academic achievement. As a new native language teacher with us, you get a secure start. We use a structured introduction plan where you are assigned a personal mentor and receive close support from a work team leader. You as an applicant We are looking first for someone who has Swedish teaching certification with qualifications in the native language. Second, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher degree from another country (for non-Swedish degrees, they must be validated by the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education, UHR). Third, we are looking for someone with an academic background comprising at least 30 university credits in the language, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. It is a requirement for this position that you have experience with curriculum-driven schools, which means you are well familiar with the curriculum's goals, structure, and values. It is meritorious if your experience specifically comes from native language instruction. This position requires a high level of communication skills. You must have documented good knowledge of the native language in speech and writing, and a very good command of Swedish in both speech and writing (corresponding to at least Swedish as a Second Language 3/B). A high level of Swedish language proficiency is necessary so that you can independently acquire information, work according to the Swedish curriculum, manage documentation and grading in our digital systems, and collaborate with classroom teachers and principals at the schools. You have good computer skills and view digital tools as a natural element in your work. Since the work involves moving between different schools during the week across Linköping Municipality, significant demands are placed on your logistical ability. It is therefore greatly advantageous if you have a B driver's license and access to a car for work purposes, or alternatively if you can bike or use public transportation. As a person, you are flexible and able to adapt to changed circumstances as you build your work week across different schools. You are social and communicative, find it easy to create trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians alike, and are comfortable taking an active role in new settings. You are organized, take great personal responsibility for planning and prioritizing your work systematically, and maintain your calm even in stressful or changing situations. You have a genuine interest in seeing each student's unique circumstances and helping them grow on their knowledge journey. Since the position involves teaching in school and working with children and young people, a clean criminal record extract is required by law.
