The Preschool and Primary Education Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest administrations with close to 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary education, and child and student well-being—we are here for children and students, shaping the future together.
The Multilingual Unit in Varberg is the municipality's central resource for native language instruction, study support, and language assistance. The operation consists of a large team of approximately 34 teachers who support about 750 multilingual children and students in preschools, primary schools, and upper secondary schools.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a native language teacher in Spanish with us, you have an important mission to strengthen students' linguistic identity and their ability to learn in all subjects. You become part of an organization that views the native language as a valuable resource for the student's entire schooling and as a path to better understanding the Swedish language.
The role involves planning and conducting both native language instruction and study support in Spanish where you, together with other teachers, create the best possible learning environment. Your focus is to help students develop their native language and understand the school's various subjects with the help of their language.
QUALIFICATIONS
To succeed in the role of native language teacher, you have a special ability to create engagement and make language learning meaningful for your students. You demonstrate good judgment in your work and can independently plan your day and your efforts at different units. Because you meet many different colleagues and students during a week, it is important that you collaborate effectively with others and have the ability to adapt your teaching and your approach based on the student's age and needs.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds teacher certification with authorization in Spanish, or another pedagogical education that we consider equivalent.
- Has excellent Spanish language skills in both speaking and writing.
- Has good knowledge of the Swedish language to be able to collaborate with colleagues and interpret curricula.
- Holds a Category B driver's license. Since the position involves teaching at several different schools and preschools during the same day, you need to be able to move easily between our dispersed units.
- Has good digital competence to be able to use municipal learning platforms and digital tools in teaching.
Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment form: Permanent employment.
Duration: Until further notice, start date: 2026-08-10.
