Native Language Teacher for Study Guidance in Various Languages at the Language Center

Ref: 20261813 Job Responsibilities Do you want to work in a multicultural environment and serve as a bridge builder between different cultures as a teacher? The Native Language Unit is part of the elementary school administration in the City of Malmö, and we are now seeking native language teachers in various languages. As a native language teacher, you will work with native language instruction in grades 1-9 and at the upper secondary level. You will provide study guidance in the student's native language across the school's various subjects. Teaching takes place at elementary schools and upper secondary schools throughout Malmö. You motivate and inspire students while actively supporting their development so they reach learning goals. You provide students with context during the school day and contribute to their integration. You use digital tools and pedagogical methods in your teaching. Together with colleagues, you work to develop instruction. You participate in various project groups aimed at developing teaching for our students. As a native language teacher, you have many different points of contact: students, guardians, and school staff. Currently, we are seeking native language teachers for study guidance in the following languages: Singhalese 10% German 20% Igbo 15% Latvian 10% Mandinka 10% Romani-Bosnian 10% Slovak 10% Czech 10% Wolof 25% Estonian 10% Icelandic 20% Norwegian 25% Portuguese 20% Qualifications We seek someone with a Swedish or foreign teaching degree, or alternatively a foreign academic degree. You have strong knowledge of the Swedish language, at least equivalent to upper secondary Swedish level 3. To be considered for this position, you must have excellent oral and written skills in your native language. You use contemporary language usage and follow linguistic developments in your native language. You also have previous experience working as a teacher in Sweden or abroad. It is meritorious if you have previously worked as a native language teacher in Sweden. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge of Office programs, Google Apps such as Drive and Google Classroom. For permanent positions, a Swedish teaching degree and Swedish teacher certification are required. You have good insight and knowledge of Swedish school curricula and can apply them in daily work. The position requires strong didactic and pedagogical ability. You can lead and organize work to create a conducive study environment and positive learning atmosphere throughout the day for students. About the Workplace The Native Language Instruction and Study Guidance Unit organizes and serves all elementary and upper secondary schools in Malmö with native language instruction and study guidance in the native language. Approximately 15,000 students are offered native language instruction, and 3,000 students receive study guidance in their native language. Over 280 native language teachers in approximately 50 languages are currently employed in the operation, with their daily workplace at schools throughout Malmö.
