Here you'll truly have the opportunity to make an impact! Bolmörtsgränd in Ystad is centrally located and is a children's and youth residential home under LSS § 9:8. The home has five places and is aimed at children and young people aged 13-18 who, for various reasons, need a home outside their parents' home. The young people also have the opportunity to continue living in the facility after they turn 18 to complete ongoing schooling in the area. The home has specific expertise in the field of communication and is aimed at children and young people with combined disabilities. The homes provide a homelike environment and operations are conducted year-round with the aim of being a safe complement to the parental home. Your Tasks All our residents today are hearing, but we also communicate using sign language (which we offer in-house training in) or adapt our communication in other ways according to the individual's needs. You'll be part of a work team where you work together to ensure that each individual has meaningful activities and a daily routine. Your task is to provide support in the individual's daily life and support them according to their needs. You'll also assist with everyday matters such as intimate hygiene, repositioning or turning, medication when needed, documentation, and cleaning. You're also expected to participate in the individual's activities, for example going to and from school, day trips, or other events. Overall, your efforts enable the individual's right to independence and self-determination. About You We see that you have completed upper secondary education, preferably in healthcare and care, children and leisure, or equivalent. Experience with challenging behavior and knowledge of working with low-arousal approaches are meriting. We'd like you to have experience from healthcare and care and to have previously worked with similar tasks. Knowledge of sign language as well as understanding of disabilities and experience in psychiatry are meriting. As a person, you're considerate and value other people's well-being. You're relationship-building, create trust, and build good collaborations with both individuals and colleagues. Since you'll be documenting your work, you also need to have a good command of the Swedish language. A driver's license is required. We apply individual salary setting and employment starts by agreement. A condition for employment is that you can present an extract from the suspicion and criminal record register. Your working hours will include days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Before employment, we will conduct a citizenship check. You will need to present a passport, national ID card, or personal certificate. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also provide proof of valid work permission or that you are exempt from the requirement to have work permission according to the Aliens Ordinance 6 chapter §13a.
