About the housing
As a unit manager, you will be responsible for one of our two student housing units located in the picturesque Doverstorp and operated under LSS § 9:8. The service is aimed at children and young people attending our adapted upper secondary school. We offer a safe, structured and developmental environment based on each individual's needs.
The housing has specialized expertise in communication and is aimed at children and young people with combined disabilities. The service operates year-round in a home-like environment.
The young people attend school during the day at Mo Gård's adapted upper secondary school in Doverstorp. Teaching is conducted within the individual program with a focus on communication and outdoor education. The school is characterized by small student groups, continuity and individually tailored solutions in a safe and nature-based environment. Staff working at the housing also have a role as student assistants at our adapted upper secondary school and accompany the student to school for continuity and security.
Your work tasks
As a unit manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day leadership of one of our two student housing units in Doverstorp. You lead, develop and monitor the service in collaboration with rehabilitation/habilitation assistants, support pedagogues and educators.
In this role, you will work closely with the principal, the unit manager for the other student housing unit and the special educator to ensure well-functioning operations and high-quality support for our students.
You are part of the region's management group with several other committed and supportive unit managers within the same operational area. Your areas of responsibility include the service's processes and development as well as operational, budget, personnel and work environment responsibility.
We know that present leadership, continuous competence development and trust in staff are basic prerequisites for well-functioning operations. With us, you have good insight into the service and close collaboration with staff. We have a clear educational organization with a broad range of training, including basic training in disabilities, AAC, low-arousal approaches, and sign language. For managers, work environment training and key personnel programs are also included.
You have support from central support functions in finance, HR, staffing and scheduling, as well as from the principal and collegial support from other unit managers. Together we create the conditions for high quality in the service and the best possible support for our students and residents.
You collaborate with guardians, home municipalities, habilitation clinics and other important stakeholders around the students living with us.
The assignment includes on-call duty.
About you
We are looking for someone with a university degree as a social worker, behavioral scientist or other equivalent relevant education. The formal qualifications are required for you to be able to stand on the license for the unit. You have previously worked in LSS services and have management experience. It is meritorious if you have experience in school.
As a person, you are relationship-building and have a knack for building trusting and long-term relationships with both students and guardians as well as staff and colleagues. You enjoy collaboration with others and contribute to a positive work environment where safety, respect and participation are in focus. You are a confident and stable leader with good self-awareness and the ability to create structure and clarity in operations, even in situations that require flexibility and adaptability.
With engaged, coaching and present leadership, you inspire your staff and create conditions for development, quality and work satisfaction. Since we work in a sign language environment, knowledge of and interest in sign language is meritorious. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities in this recruitment.
The employment
We offer a permanent employment at 100%, with an initial 6-month probation period. Start date by agreement. Fixed monthly salary, we apply individual salary setting.
A requirement for employment is that you can show an extract from the suspicion and criminal record register. A category B driving license is a requirement.
