We are now looking for a Water and Wastewater Strategist for the Strategy and Development unit. Here we work with long-term planning and development of the municipality's water and wastewater system. We develop strategies and governance documents, contribute specialized knowledge in areas such as environmental legislation and the Water Services Act, and drive the development of future water and wastewater solutions. About the Role As a Water and Wastewater Strategist, you have a central role in ensuring that the water and wastewater perspective is included in the municipality's development – from early planning to implementation. You work at the intersection of technology, urban development, and governance, and contribute analyses and strategic decisions that have significance far into the future. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues at Miva, the municipality, and external stakeholders. We work with trust-based management, which means significant personal responsibility, opportunity to influence, and shared responsibility for business development. Your Main Responsibilities Take responsibility for strategic water and wastewater issues in urban development and planning processes. Ensure the water and wastewater perspective in comprehensive plans, detailed plans, and development projects. Develop and create strategies, guidelines, and other governance documents. Contribute to long-term decisions about service areas and expansion of water and wastewater infrastructure. Monitor developments in legislation, technology, and industry, and analyze consequences and propose strategic choices. Provide qualified support to operations and management on long-term water and wastewater issues. Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for someone who enjoys combining analysis, collaboration, and long-term development work. You are structured, see the big picture, and have the ability to translate complex issues into clear decisions. You have: relevant post-secondary education in urban development, water and wastewater technology, physical planning, or another relevant field, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience experience with strategic work within water and wastewater or urban development good understanding of the relationship between planning, governance, and operational activities good collaboration skills and ease communicating with different audiences good ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing It is meriting if you have experience from municipal operations, a water and wastewater authority, or the consulting industry, as well as knowledge of water and wastewater law and the Water Services Act (LAV).
