JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to drive sustainability work forward at one of Sweden's most exciting energy companies? Do you have experience with climate accounting and environmental legislation and want to be part of developing our climate and environmental goals? This is a role for someone who likes to make a real difference!
An important part of your role is to be responsible for Varberg Energi's climate accounting. By collecting and analyzing data, you get a clear picture of the company's climate impact. You then use these insights to develop and follow up on our climate and environmental goals, which means you actively contribute to driving our sustainability work forward.
The Environmental Strategist has both an operational and strategic role in meeting legal requirements and developing long-term environmental goals, as well as in implementing and following up on concrete environmental measures in daily work. We have operations with permits linked to the Environmental Code, such as district heating and electricity production. Therefore, you need to have knowledge and the ability to apply the Environmental Code.
In the role, you will be responsible for all environmental reporting within the company and work together with operations to ensure we comply with current environmental legislation. You will lead and coordinate internal audits and compliance inspections. Your tasks include performing environmental investigations and assessments, identifying and reporting improvements in environmental and climate matters, and being responsible for reporting on emission allowances and ensuring that all legal requirements in the field are met.
You are responsible for supervisory visits from authorities and follow up on any deviations. Furthermore, you develop and implement procedures and train operations so that we together can reach our climate and environmental goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with great commitment to the environment, climate, and sustainability. You have relevant education in the environmental field and several years of experience with similar tasks, preferably from the energy industry or other manufacturing operations. It is a merit if you have knowledge of environmental legislation and systems such as EU ETS, NOx fees, and sustainability statements.
You are used to working independently, but you also enjoy collaborating and building good relationships, both internally and externally. As a person, you are thorough, structured, and have a talent for communicating clearly, even on complex matters. You enjoy driving development forward and have a solution-focused work approach.
You have good analytical skills and are skilled at handling and compiling information. Experience with audits, environmental reporting, and contacts with authorities is a plus.
Together with colleagues, you will drive sustainability issues, both regarding the environment and occupational health and safety. Together, you will contribute to developing Varberg Energi's work on sustainability issues and ensure that operations take responsibility for both people and the environment.
Salary form: Monthly salary.
