The Regional Government Office's approximately 300 employees work as the government's representative at the regional level. The Animal and Environment Unit is one of the Regional Government Office's seven units that works with permits, supervision and control within disease control, health, food, feed and animal welfare. We also handle supervision, licensing and supervision guidance within the Environmental Code, water activities, water protection, dam safety, environmentally hazardous activities, fish farming, wind power, hydropower, contaminated sites, etc. Our employees include environmental protection officers, regional veterinarians and animal welfare officers. Description The Environmental Protection function consists of 18 officers with varying backgrounds and experiences. We are now seeking an environmental protection officer for the Environmental Protection function with a focus on environmentally hazardous activities. Job Responsibilities You will primarily handle applications, statements and supervise environmentally hazardous activities (for example within waste, wind power, hydropower, fish farms, industries, Seveso facilities) while contributing to sustainable development. Other tasks may also apply depending on your background. As an environmental protection officer, you will play a major role in our work to supervise environmentally hazardous activities to ensure that current permits are followed. You will prepare proposals and supporting documents for statements on permit applications from a holistic perspective, and you will often collaborate with internal and external parties to achieve results. Good collaborative skills will be absolutely essential. Qualifications We see that you have a science-based academic education of at least 180 credits in, for example, environmental and health protection inspector, engineer or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent. Particularly meritorious is knowledge and experience within wind power or waste and Seveso. You must have worked with supervision or licensing of environmentally hazardous activities for at least 1 year. Since there are business trips throughout the region with limited or no access to public transportation, a category B driver's license is a requirement. It is meritorious if you have experience from work with supervision or licensing within a public authority or municipality.
