Environmental Inspector, Temporary Position

Since one of our employees will be on leave, the Environment and Building Permits Unit is seeking a temporary environmental inspector until June 18, 2027, with possible extension. You will be part of a work team with five dedicated environmental inspectors, a municipal ecologist, and an environmental strategist. Additionally, there is an administrator and two building permit officers. The work is led by the Unit Manager for Environment & Building. The Environment and Building Permits Unit is part of the Society Sector and is one of the Society Committee's areas of responsibility. Your workplace is located in the municipal building in Lilla Edet, right next to the bus station with a view of the Göta River. Your Role Supervision and licensing under the Environmental Code and other environmental legislation. The position's focus can be adapted to some extent based on your competence and interests. We are looking for someone who has completed appropriate higher education or university training in environmental and health protection and has knowledge of environmental legislation. Experience with public administration and case handling under the Environmental Code is a merit. You handle digital systems easily and have a quick learning ability, while being service-oriented. As an environmental inspector, you have many points of contact and meet both residents, business operators, and other stakeholders. Therefore, you are someone who thrives in meeting people and who finds it easy to build trust and good relationships. You communicate clearly, simply, and respectfully and have very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You have a service-oriented approach and are attentive to different people's needs and circumstances. You can adapt your communication and conduct to create understanding, while feeling confident in standing by your decisions and applicable regulations. You are self-driven and take responsibility for moving your work forward. You have the ability to make your own decisions and feel confident in your professional judgment. You plan and prioritize in a structured way and ensure that tasks are completed with the right quality and within the right timeframe. Since you will be part of a small work team, you are also an important part of the whole. The position requires a B-class driver's license. Pool cars belonging to the municipality are used in the role.
