Your role and responsibilities:
As an environmental engineer with us, you will have an important role in developing and monitoring operations at Hässleholm Recycling Center. You will work closely with an environmental engineer colleague, as well as colleagues in operations, technology, environment, and business development, and contribute your knowledge and analytical skills to matters concerning environmental legislation, permits, processes, and self-monitoring.

Therefore, you need to be able to balance regulatory requirements, environmental benefits, technical conditions, and business considerations to find practical and sustainable ways forward.
As an environmental engineer, you are responsible for:
• Establishing, developing, and monitoring self-monitoring procedures, routines, and working methods
• Coordinating sampling, analyzing results, and proposing improvements
• Contributing to the development and efficiency of our processes
• Preparing environmental reports, investigations, and environmental risk assessments
• Supporting operations with matters concerning environmental legislation and permits
• Participating in projects and development work together with colleagues and external parties
• Maintaining contact with authorities on environmental matters

Who you are:
You are a person who takes responsibility for your tasks and drives them forward in a structured way. You enjoy working independently, but also see the value of thinking together with others. Since the role involves many contact points, you are receptive, communicative, and good at building trust in collaboration with colleagues, authorities, and other actors.
You have strong analytical skills and enjoy diving into complex matters. You don't always need to have the answer from the start, but you have the ability to gather information, weigh different perspectives, and move forward even when conditions are unclear. You are solution-oriented and have a business-like approach, while respecting the requirements and frameworks that govern our operations.
We are looking for you who have:
• A university degree or engineering degree in environment, chemical engineering, or similar
• Several years of experience in the environmental field, preferably from waste facilities, water treatment, process industry, or other permit-required operations
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
• A driver's license (category B) is required

Terms and application:
The position is a permanent full-time employment with a six-month probationary period. Working hours are arranged on weekdays.
Hässleholm Miljö operates activities of national importance. This means that all employees are placed in a civil defense role in the organization to ensure operations during heightened preparedness.
