We are now looking for an Environmental Officer with a focus on environmental protection inspection for the Environment and Public Health Unit.
Here at the Environment and Public Health Unit, you will contribute to promoting good health and environment for both current and future residents of Sundbyberg.
The Environment and Public Health Unit is part of the Building Permits and Environmental Inspection Department. The unit consists of a unit manager and 10 other inspectors.
As an Environmental Officer, you will primarily work with environmental protection inspection according to the Environmental Code. The work is varied and includes both office work and inspections at various operations. You will have the opportunity to largely independently plan your time while working closely with your colleagues for equivalent inspection practices.
Your work tasks include planning and conducting inspection visits at environmentally hazardous operations, drafting documents and official statements. You handle matters concerning permits, exemptions and notifications according to environmental legislation and write response statements.
The position is under development and will be shaped based on the needs of the operation, taking into account the new employee's experience, prerequisites and personal strengths. We would appreciate it if you have your own areas of expertise that you want to develop and share with colleagues – this could be environmental monitoring, soil contamination or another area where you have particular commitment. Depending on profile and interest, the role can also be broadened to include administrative, coordinating or system administrative tasks.
We want you to have higher education with a focus on environment and public health or equivalent that includes environmental legislation at university/college level as well as good knowledge of the practical application of legislation within the Environmental Code and the Administrative Procedure Act.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date by agreement. Selection and invitation to interviews may take place continuously during the advertising period. A probationary period may be applied.
