We are now recruiting an environmental officer with a focus on health protection inspection to the Environment and Health Protection Unit.
Here at the Environment and Health Protection Unit, you will contribute to promoting good health and environment for both current and future residents of Sundbyberg.
The Environment and Health Protection Unit is part of the Building Permits and Environmental Supervision Department. The unit consists of a unit manager and 10 other inspectors.
As an environmental officer, you will primarily work with health protection inspections according to the Environmental Code. The work is varied and includes both office work and inspections at various facilities or in residential buildings. You will have the opportunity to largely independently plan your time while working closely with your colleagues for equivalent supervision.
Your tasks as a handler within health protection include conducting inspections and handling incoming cases related to, among other things, complaint handling and nuisances in homes and premises. Providing information and advice to citizens and business operators is also an important part of the work.
We want you to have higher education with a focus on environment and health protection or equivalent that includes environmental legislation at university/college level and good knowledge of practical application of legislation within the Environmental Code and the Administrative Procedure Act.
The position is under development and will be shaped based on the needs of the operation, taking into account the new employee's experience, conditions and personal strengths. We would like you to have your own areas of expertise that you want to develop and share with colleagues – it could be noise, complex complaint cases within indoor environment or something else where you have special interest. Depending on profile and interest, the role can also be broadened with elements of administrative, coordinating or system administration tasks.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date by agreement.
