Description As an Environmental Management Officer in Sotenäs Municipality, you will be part of a team working with supervision and permitting under the Environmental Code. The Environmental Unit is part of the Community Development Administration in Sotenäs Municipality. As a case officer, you work for our three cooperating municipalities—Sotenäs, Munkedal, and Lysekil—and we have offices in all three municipal buildings. Responsibilities Depending on your competence and experience, your duties may vary. We are seeking expertise in supervising environmentally hazardous activities and health protection. In collaboration with colleagues, you will work with supervision and permitting within the scope of the Environmental Code. As an environmental management officer, it is important that you have the ability to work in a structured and proactive manner. Your communication skills are important both in writing and speech; in your work, you encounter both private individuals and business operators. Qualifications We are seeking someone with at least three years of higher education focusing on environmental and health protection or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You are proactive and have good communication skills. You can adapt your communication in a responsive and professional manner to different audiences and situations, which contributes to good relationships and legally sound assessments in the exercise of public authority. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to make well-founded assessments and adapt your work approach based on the organization's needs and conditions. The work is varied and requires that you can prioritize, maintain focus, and handle multiple tasks in parallel.
