We are now seeking you at VB Energi to step into the role of our Environment and Sustainability Specialist at our headquarters in Ludvika. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in environmental and permitting matters who can independently drive and represent the group on these issues, as well as someone who enjoys sharing knowledge to educate and advance our environmental and sustainability efforts. About the Role of Environment and Sustainability Specialist In your role as our Environment and Sustainability Specialist, you will work broadly with these matters and will be the only person within the group with this expertise. You will work closely with the occupational health specialist, quality engineer, managers, and other colleagues. You are part of the management team and report directly to VB Energi's CEO. You are responsible for permitting matters, environmental reporting, and supervisory visits. You will also support staff in interpreting and developing control programs as well as goal-oriented work toward environmental and sustainability targets. You will contribute your expertise in projects and stay updated on current legislation. VB Energi has electricity network, district heating, and contracting operations, and you will step in and support all business areas. In this role, you will also be responsible for driving and coordinating efforts for our local hydropower company through the license renewal process under the National Plan – from planning and investigation, through collaboration and dialogue with authorities, to developing and submitting an application for modern environmental conditions to the Land and Environmental Court. Your work tasks will include: Environmental reporting, permit management, and authority dialogues Participation in consultations Training colleagues Developing the group's environmental and sustainability efforts Investigations and development projects Ensuring that the management system related to environment is up to date Administering and documenting environmental work in accordance with ISO 14001 Development of our chemical management in Ichemistry Deviation handling in ENIA Developing and monitoring the operations' Self-Control Program Developing, planning, implementing, and monitoring internal and external audits Developing, and following up operations' waste management including hazardous waste and dangerous goods You will join a workplace characterized by commitment, collaboration, and openness. We are looking for someone with at least five years of experience in broad and independent environmental and sustainability work. You need to be able to switch between practical and administrative work, and you need to be confident and able to prioritize what is most important. Furthermore, you are thorough and communicative. Additionally, you have: Work experience in environmental and sustainability work, preferably from the energy sector Higher education or vocational education in environmental and sustainability Fluent Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good understanding of English is required Good computer and system proficiency is a requirement as a large part of the work is done in various IT systems Experience with management systems, internal control programs, and internal audits Experience with environmental and permitting processes, preferably in district heating, electricity networks, or hydropower Experience in dialogue and collaboration with county administrative boards, other authorities, municipalities, and other stakeholders Good ability to independently drive processes forward, keep timelines on track, and ensure that correct documentation is compiled on time Good communication skills and an ability to build trust and good relationships with various stakeholders Additional Information What We Offer An opportunity to work at a local energy company that works together for safe and stable operations and thus contributes to our customers receiving environmentally friendly energy.
